Pasti Italian Restaurant Shanghai
A couple of years ago already I went to Pasti on their old location. This spot is now occupied by Napoli while Pasti moved to a old villa only footsteps away. A lot more space and the food even better. I have been a couple of times now and even ordered in using their convenient website.
Food
The food is good quality Italian pizzas and salads.
Pizzas have thin crusts and fully topped, salads are well dressed.
The pastas I tried where not as good as the pizza but then again, I really like their pizza.
We started with a Caprese supreme Salad (72 Rmb) and a Goat cheese salad. Both well stocked and dressed.
The mains were a Caramelized Onions + Bacon Pizza (72 Rmb) with a thin crust and great taste and a Spaghetti “Red Goat Cheese” (68 Rmb) which was less of a success and hence I didn’t finish it.
Drinks
We had a bottle of white (220 Rmb) but I completely forgot the name. It was good value though, that I remember.
Service
Friendly Chinese staff that is attentive and Western staff that is knowledgeable about the wines.
Toilets
The toilets were clean and blue.
They even have a special area for the girls to do their make-up which is a nice touch.
Environment
Pasti is located in an old Villa on the second floor (Chinese counting), spacious and with a smoking and non-smoking area.
Verdict
Good, solid pizzas and tasty salads with a very nice service. Pasti also delivers at home and with their excellent website it’s a breeze to order. Last time ordering online even gave me 10% discount. It’s not the cheapest but worth the money. For vegetarians there is a special section in the menu.

WOW! now that’s a pizza. I wish we could get a pie like that here in Qingdao. What do you think of the food at Napoli? We just had an Italian joint open here with the same name. Is it a chain?
How is Shanghai’s Mexican food scene?

Yep, they have some nice pizzas.
I haven’t been to Napoli lately. Last time I went the food was ok but I was slightly unhappy with the fact they didn’t want to pay me the 5 Rmb I won with scratching my fapiao.
It was policy of the owner the friendly servant said but to me it was a sign of bad customer service. But besides that, service was ok actually. I don’t know whether the Napoli branch in Qingdao is run by the same people.
I haven’t eaten any Mexican food here in Shanghai yet. I should try though.
