FYI. You can avoid the garbled Chinese as long as you go to "Regional and Language Options" in the Control Panel, then set the "Language for non-Unicode programs" under the "Advanced" tab to Chinese (PRC). It will ask you to restart, but now you will be able to read all that Chinese on the installation screen.

I generally leave my English Windows with Chinese as the default because it should handle English programs as well, although some installs (Civilization 4) comes to mind are weird if you do not change the settings back. It has to do with parsing the differing punctuation marks I think. But then again I am no computer expert.

hi, that was a typo because my mind was fading fast after pecking two days on the translation. this was 9,000+ words in Chinese, much of it in boring cant. nevertheless, it needs to be translated because of its popularity in the Chinese blogs and forums.

@Jack

Good question. This is somewhat of a personal observation so not academic at all. I think they go more and more for both and also for just hanging out.

How is Starbucks perceived in China? I know that the Chinese generally love American brands and restaurants. Do people go to Starbucks for the coffee or for the "American experience"?

That's not the main Starbucks IP address either (not even the starbucks.cn address), just a standard China Netcom data centre in Shanghai. Possibly the Shanghai branch couldn't get access to the main server and just decided to set something up on their own?
