Wisdom Tooth Pulled

Filed under: Shanghai Prices — Shanghai @ 10:40 pm

My second wisdom tooth was pulled yesterday.

Last time it was in the upper half of my jaw (to be exact on the right side) and it cost me 300 Rmb.

This time it was the lower half (left side) and it cost me double.

I have no inkling why there is such a difference as the work seemed the same.

It’s still much cheaper than Holland though.

  1. I’ve got a cavity and am dreading a trip to the dentist, and also fearful for my wife who needs to get her wisdom tooth (teeth?) removed. Good to know it’s at least reasonably priced. Though I’m not sure if “discount” and “removing bits of my body” should be put into the same thought process.

  2. I’m not sure what it is like in Suzhou but here you have several “Western” clinics that offer different price settings.

For me the most important is to have a dentist that gives me a good feeling and can communicate.

I prefer female dentists myself as their hands are smaller which makes the whole drilling, hacking a tad more bearable:)

I also dread going over there, have to go there next week for a check and the week after for the next wisdom tooth.

But better have it over with now than later getting more teeth issues. As long as the anesthesia works I’m happy enough:)

Good luck with your cavity and your wife’s wisdom tooth.
