Who doesn’t want to learn Chinese the days. Or so it seems. I am trying myself to improve my spoken, written and understanding of Mandarin. It’s a steep climb but one day I will get al least at 1/3 of the hill.
A compilation of free online tools to learn, try to learn Chinese. The podcasts can also be used to fall asleep with.
Chinesepod
Chinesepod has been around for less than a year but has made a huge impact. It has evolved from a blog with podcast to a multi-tool. The podcasts are free and if you want transcriptions and use all the options you can pay.

Serge is in the same boat as Chinesepod. He offers useful free mandarin podcasts on a weekly bases and for additonal features you can pay.

Learnchinesepod
A new kid on the block. It’s still in the experimental phase and has a long way to go to get at the level of the real Chinesepod or Melnyck. Currently there are 9 lessons available. I’ll review them if they are still around in the next couple of months.
