Walking in Nanchang Lu we noticed Tailor Chen. A male showed us the fabrics and the price for a pair of pants seemed ok, 550 Rmb.
We were willing to buy and thought we’d try to bargain a bit. Just a little and if they had come up with a good counter offer or even a vague promise that we could get a discount next time, we would have accepted and paid.
The lady in charge of the finances and as it seemed also very much in charge of her computer game, shouted without turning her head. “Only buy one pair, no discount” and back she was in her game.
Bye, bye Tailor Chen and out we were, no money for those that have no interest in selling. Which is basically a nuisance as I have to continue my search for a tailor:)
U can try the tailors at Shanghai Shiliu Pu Hongqixiang Cloth market at 168 DongMen Road.
They have lots of tailors all in one building there.. very cool stuff.
