I was reading on the “no car day” for beijing. Actually the city isn’t part of that day, individual street can sign up for the no car day. So in reality the whole concept isn’t adopted by the whole city, just those street that wanted to.

I’m sure they will have some test drives, sorry, no drives, before the Expo:)
Regarding the signing up of streets, that kind of makes me curious.
How do streets actually sign up for a car free day? Do streets walk up to local government and tell official desk that they like to be free…

I’m curious as well on how they sign up, but that was from the report I saw on CCTV9. That might be the reason why the “success” on the car free day was so limited…
