Maneo Restaurant Shanghai Brunch
Brunching is one of my favorite activities on late Sunday morning. Last time we tried a Spanish brunch at Indalo, now we went to more of a Fusion brunch at Maneo’s on Tongren Lu.
Food
Instead of a buffet Maneo offers a big menu and you can choose as much and as many times you like.
Ranging from a Mixed Grilled Plate with lovely lamb chops to Teriyaki Salmon or a Grilled minute steak and even an Open laced-blue cheese burger. All great quality.
If you’re more into salads they have an excellent Caesar Salad and my now favorite Prawn Zucchini salad with almonds, Parmesan and truffle dressing.
Various styles of eggs can be had accompanied by a continental bread basket with warm croissants (the white bread is a bit too sweet).
To finish it off you can go for pancakes, warm chocolate brownies or Creme Brulee.
There’s more on the menu but this is what we chose. The price is 158 Rmb per person
Drinks
There are no drinks include in the Brunch set but ice water is provide for free. A cup of coffee sets you back 25 Rmb.
Service
Very friendly and fast service.
The chef makes it a habit to chat with the guests and asks them how they like it.
A nice touch.
Toilets
Clean and earth-colored toilets.
They have sprinkled some fragrant leaves which keeps the odor at the right level.
On top of that their pissoirs are cooled with ice cubes.
What more do you want.
Environment
I don’t know whether it used to be a villa or something else but the building seems to be beginning 1930’s. The restaurant itself is modern hip, clean and spacious.
Verdict
Great food, very friendly service although the last time we went it was bit spotty. If you’re lucky you may have a chance to enjoy the last rays of autumn sunshine on their quiet terrace.
