Osteria Italian Restaurant – Less guests is better

Filed under: Shanghai Restaurants — Shanghai @ 1:34 am

Clicking an ad I ended up at the website of the Osteria restaurant

I’m a bit puzzled by the fact that if I bring 7 or more friends I’ll be charged 10% more.

Still, I may try out the place one day, just with a small group though.
It seems from the pictures like an enjoyable place and the reviews seem ok as well.

Element Fresh Dots And Staff Toilets

Filed under: Shanghai Restaurants — Shanghai @ 11:58 pm

The place is close, Nanjing Lu, the coffee is getting more expensive every time (regular Yunnan brew from 12 Rmb to 16 Rmb) but the terrace makes up for that.

There’s just one thing that keeps amazing me, and this is based on 4 years of research.

Every time I go to the bathroom it’s occupied. And every time it’s one of the staffers. Now I understand that staffers also need moments of rest and quietness and I wholly endorse that but please give them their own toilets.

Coconut Paradise Thai Restaurant Shanghai

Filed under: Shanghai Restaurants — Shanghai @ 9:58 pm

coconut paradiseMy taxi took me through Fumin Lu and in a flash I noticed a sign with the name Coconut Paradise. I checked the net, read some reviews and we decided to try it the same evening.

Food

red thai curryThe Red Curry Chicken (60 Rmb) came last but ended up first taste-wise.

A great curry with tender pieces of chicken. Their mixed vegetable salad (38 Rmb) was run of the mill and the Seafood salad (70 Rmb) was only slightly better with the tiny bis of squid. We also tried their Pad Thai (60 Rmb). (more…)

Maneo Restaurant Shanghai Brunch

maneo brunchBrunching is one of my favorite activities on late Sunday morning. Last time we tried a Spanish brunch at Indalo, now we went to more of a Fusion brunch at Maneo’s on Tongren Lu.

Food

mixed grillInstead of a buffet Maneo offers a big menu and you can choose as much and as many times you like.

Ranging from a Mixed Grilled Plate with lovely lamb chops to Teriyaki Salmon or a Grilled minute steak and even an Open laced-blue cheese burger. All great quality. (more…)
